OFFICIAL RETROSYNTH RECORDS STATEMENT
We understand the frustration around the MCTV Spring Break event cancellation, but we want to be very clear – we have been assured that all tickets and sponsorships have been or are currently being fully reimbursed. We supported the cancellation rather than to see a substandard event occur because we value our fans and artists too much to give them a poor experience. From our end, we’re taking steps to make right circumstances beyond our purview.
Know that we take risks that other labels don’t or won’t because we are passionate about growing this genre. While this event didn’t go as planned, we’d rather aim high and pivot when necessary than never try at all. Our focus remains on supporting our artists and proving what an indie label can achieve.
A simple Q&A about the MCTV Spring Break Event cancellation:
Q: Why was the event cancelled?
A: We set out with an ambitious vision to create a world-class networking and performance event for the synthwave community. Unfortunately, we encountered several logistical impediments. Rather than move forward with a substandard event that didn’t meet our high standards or your expectations, we chose to cancel in the interest of the artists and fans.
Q: How and when will I receive my refund?
A: The organizer has assured us that all ticket holders and sponsors are being reimbursed. Refunds are already being processed; however, depending on your financial institution, it may take a few days to appear on your statement. If you haven’t seen your refund by February 16, 2026, please contact the MCTV support team at support@midnightcitystudios.com.
Q: How are the artists being handled?
A: Our artists are our priority. We have personally contacted every performer involved in the Spring Break lineup to discuss the cancellation and provide direct support. We remain committed to their growth and will continue to provide them with unrivaled opportunities through our label.
Q: Does this mean RetroSynth is stopping event production?
A: Not at all. We are risk-takers by nature. While this specific event faced hurdles we couldn’t overlook, our entrepreneurial spirit remains. We will continue to innovate and look for new ways to bring synthwave to a global audience—we’ll just ensure the next endeavor is better equipped to overcome the challenges we faced here.
Q: Who can I contact for more information?
A: For any further questions regarding your tickets or the event, please reach out to the MCTV support team at support@midnightcitystudios.com.

From the Event Organizer
After a great deal of thought and careful consideration, Midnight City Studios has made the difficult decision to cancel MCTV Spring Break as it was originally planned.
This wasn’t an easy call. MCTV Spring Break was meant to be a celebration of music, creativity, nostalgia, and community. However, the timing and circumstances no longer allow us to deliver the experience at the level Midnight City Studios strives for.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support.
